Silambarasan, the oldest child of T. Rajendar and Usha Rajendar, was born on February 3, 1983 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His family consists of Ilakiya, their elder sibling, and his younger brother Kuralarasan. He attended St. John’s Indian Residential School and Don Bosco Matriculation High School. He first made an appearance in his father’s movies when he was quite young, but Kadhal Azhivathillai in 2002 gave him his first significant role as a hero.

Silambarasan has frequently performed as a background vocalist in Tamil film. In the band Sonnal Thaan Kaadhala, he made his vocal debut. Since then, he has recorded over sixty songs for a variety of songwriters. He sings in his own films and has primarily collaborated with his friend and fellow composer, Yuvan Shankar Raja. Silambarasan also wrote the lyrics for a few of the song selections from the movie.

His movies “Kovil,” “Vallavan,” and “Manmadhan” earned him a lot of praise. He played the lead role in his following movie, “Silambattam,” which also did well. Simbu, who starred in the 2010 film “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya,” was largely responsible for the success of the film. In the years that followed, he appeared in movies including “Vaanam” (2011), “Idhu Namma Aalu” (2016), and “Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada” (2016). Simbu appeared in the Mani Ratnam film Chekka Chivantha Vaanam, which was released in 2018. The movie had a large audience and fared well commercially. Simbu’s film career has flourished since that time.
