Mammootty Wiki and Biography: Known mostly for his work in Malayalam films, Muhammad Kutty Panaparambil Ismail (IPA: [muhmd kui pnprmbil ismjl]; born September 7, 1951) is an Indian actor and film producer. Mammootty is a name he’s known by. He has also appeared in films made in English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Over the course of his 50-year career, he has made over 400 film appearances.
Thirteen Filmfare Awards South, seven Kerala State Film Awards, and three National Film Awards are just a few of the many accolades he has received. He was honoured by the Indian government with the Padma Shri award for his work in the film industry in 1998. Mammootty first appeared on screen in the 1971 Malayalam film Anubhavangal Paalichakal.

Mammootty Biography
Mammootty Education
He completed his early education at the Government High School at Kulasekharamangalam, Kottayam. When he was young, his father took the family and moved them to Ernakulam, where he attended Government School Ernakulam. He graduated with his prerequisites from Sacred Heart College in Thevara. He attended Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam. His LL.B. comes from Ernakulam’s Government Law College. During those two years, he worked as a lawyer in Manjeri.
Mammootty Early Life
Mammootty entered this world on September 7, 1951, in Chandiroor. He was born and raised in the middle-class Muslim community of Chempu, which is located in the Kottayam district of the modern Indian state of Kerala, not far from the town of Vaikom. His dad, Ismail, farmed rice and also ran a wholesale garment business. His mother Fatima never worked outside the home. He was their eldest son. His three younger sisters are named Ameena, Sauda, and Shafina, while his two younger brothers are named Ibrahimkutty and Zakariah.
In 1979 he married Sulfath, and the couple eventually welcomed son Dulquer Salmaan and daughter Surumi in 1982. (born 1986). He and his loved ones have settled in the Kochi neighbourhood of Ernakulam. His younger brother Ibrahimkutty is a successful performer in Malayalam media. Ibrahimkutty’s son Maqbool Salmaan is also a performer.
Mammootty Career
In the 1971 film Anubhavangal Paalichakal directed by K. S. Sethumadhavan, Mammootty made his acting debut in a supporting role. Kaalachakram, a 1973 Malayalam film directed by K. Narayanan, was his second film and featured his first lines of speech. Back in 1975, he was a part of the cast of the stage show Sabarmathi. Devalokam, directed by M. T. Vasudevan Nair and released in 1979, marked his debut in a starring role.
However, production on this film stopped before it was completed. Azad directed and M. T. Vasudevan Nair wrote his first film, Vilkkanundu Swapnangal, in which he made his playing debut in 1980. Mammootty’s first starring role in a commercially released film was in K. G. George’s Mela (1980).
In Shaji Kailas’ 1995 film The King, written by Mammootty and Renji Panikkar, Mammootty played the leading part of a district collector. In 1997, for the film Bhoothakannadi, directed by Lohithadas, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. Mammootty won his third national award for the English-language biopic of B. R. Ambedkar, Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar, which was directed by Jabbar Patel.
The film received funding from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and the National Film Development Corporation of India. By the late ’90s, he has co-starred in films alongside Mohanlal, such as Priyadarshan’s Megham and Fazil’s Harikrishnans. Fazil, a first for an Indian film, was compelled to film two conclusions to the film because of the film’s success and the fame of both performers.
