Jayan Maradu, the future Jayasurya, was born at Thrippunithura, Mani and Thankam, Kerala. He attended Sanskrit Government High School in Tripunithura and St. George University Preparatory School in Chambakkara. To enhance his education in business, he enrolled at Mar Ivanios College. After finishing his education, he joined several counterfeit bands, including Kottayam Nazir’s Crown of Cochin and Cochin Discovery.

His formative academic experiences were spent in Tripunithura’s Government Sanskrit High School and Chambakkara’s St. George U. P. School. He earned a BS in Business Administration from All Saints. When he was done with school, he became a member of the mime troupes Crown of Cochin and Kottayam Nazir’s Cochin Discovery. Longtime sweetheart Saritha became his wife on January 25, 2004. The couple welcomed twins, named Adwaith and Veda.

Beginning his career in Malayalam television, he hosted programmes like “Jagathy Vs. Jagathy” on Kairali TV and “Fun-Day Jokepot” on Cochin ACV. In addition, he did voice acting for several characters in serials, for which he also provided dubbing. He has made cameo appearances in other films, including as Aparanmar Nagarathil, in which he played the comic. His first film, Oomappenninu Uriyadappayyan, directed by Vinayan and released in 2002, marked his entry into the Malayalam film industry. And then he showed up in Kattu Chembakam and Pranaya Mani Thooval.

In the 2003 film Swapnakkoodu, he played a pivotal role alongside Prithviraj Sukumaran and Kunchacko Boban. His first film as producer was the 2014 release Punyalan Agarbattis (2013). Jayasurya made his film singing debut with M. Jayachandran’s “Komalavali” from the 2005 film Immini Nalloraal. He has recently finished recording an album of spiritual music at Vani Studio in Kochi. The album “Krishnakavyam” was produced by Goodluck Audios.
