Madhavan Biography
Madhavan Education
Brahmins from the Tamil community make up R. Madhavan’s family. His father, Ranganathan Seshadri, worked as a high-ranking official at Tata Steel. His mother, Saroja, was a manager at the Bank of India. His sister, Devika, is a programmer. In 1991, Madhavan first encountered Sarita Birje while working as a public speaking instructor in Mumbai. When Sarita’s schooling was done, the two started dating and eventually tied the knot in 1999. Their son Vedaant was born.
Madhavan started his education at the D.B.M.S. English School in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, then transferred to Rajaram College in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, for his undergraduate degree, and lastly to Kishinchand Chellaram College in Mumbai, Maharashtra, for his B.Sc. in electronics after completing studies for a speech diploma.
Madhavan Early Life
His original ambition was to join the Indian Army, thus he trained extensively outside of class as a college student. At the age of 22, he was one of the top NCC cadets in all of Maharashtra, earning him and six other cadets a trip to England as a reward. There, he trained with the British Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force. He missed the program’s enrollment deadline by six months due to his advanced age.
Madhavan returned to India and set up a workshop in Kolhapur where he instructed students in the art of public speaking and other forms of personal development. And then he enrolled at Mumbai’s Kishinchand Chellaram College for a master’s in oratory. In 1992, while he was a graduate student in Japan, Madhavan was chosen to represent India at the Young Businessmen Conference. Meanwhile, he began to build a portfolio of his modelling work.
Madhavan Career
Madhavan’s career as a model started in 1996. His first modelling job was for a talcum powder commercial, and he made Rs. 100. He later had a few of guest appearances on shows like “Yule Love Stories,” “Banegi Apni Baat,” and “Ghar Jamai.”
After “Alaipayuthey” by Mani Ratnam, he achieved fame in Tamil cinema (2000). Later, he was lauded for his work in films like “Minnale” and “Dumm Dumm Dumm.” Through his performance in the 2002 action picture “Run,” he was able to achieve commercial success. For his role as Anbe Sivam with Kamal Hassan, he was nominated for two Best Supporting Actor awards and ultimately won both. His most notable role was as the antagonist in the 2004 Tamil film “Aayutha Ezhuthu.” The film earned him his first Filmfare Award.
Madhavan debuted in the Bollywood film industry with the 2001 release of “Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein.” His next three blockbuster appearances were in supporting roles in the critically acclaimed films “Rang De Basanti” (2006), “Guru” (2007), and “3 Idiots” (2009).
In 2011, he had a starring role in the love story “Tanu Weds Manu.” The movie and his performance both did well at the box office. After that, he took a three-year sabbatical from acting before making his big-screen return. In 2015, he starred in “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” as Manoj “Manu” Sharma, and his flick Rocketry was a huge success over the world.
