Film editor Mohan’s son Ravi made his acting debut in the Telugu film Bava Bavamaridi (1993), which Mohan also produced. M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi (2004), Unakkum Enakkum (2006), Santhosh Subramaniam (2008), Thillalangadi (2010), and Thani Oruvan (2010) were only a few of the projects he worked on with his brother after. Actor Jayam Ravi was born on September 10, 1980, in the city of Thirumangalam in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. His father is Mohammed Jinnah Abdul Khader, also known as Mohan, and his mother is Varalakshmi Mohan. His parents are of different faiths; his Hindu mother and Muslim father. His older brother Mohan Raja was a director, and his sister Roja is a dentist. Finishing his schooling at the Jawahar Vidyalaya in Ashok Nagar, Chennai was a priority for Jayam Ravi. While in school, he performed regularly on several stages, having trained in Bharatanatyam dance. After finishing school, he attended Loyola College in Chennai, where he majored in visual communication and received his degree. After graduating from university, he moved to Mumbai to study acting at the Kishore Namit Kapur Institute. Following that, he assisted director Suresh Krishna on the film Aalavandhan (2001)

To get his start in the industry, actor Jayam Ravi worked as Suresh Krishna’s assistant on the Kamal Haasan film Aalavandhan (2001). Furthermore, he made his acting debut in his sibling’s debut film, Jayam. His standing in the Tamil film industry grew as a result of his participation in this film, and he later starred in the Telegu adaptation M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi. His subsequent film, 2009’s Peranamai, marked his return to the industry. 2015 was the best year of his film career. It’s because a lot of his movies came out in the same year. In all of Tamil Nadu’s theatres, three of these four films have been playing for more than 50 days. In 2018, he had a smash hit with Tik Tik Tik, which was set in outer space. His next films, following these 2020 releases, are now under production.
