Movie Verdict
There aren’t many movies that discuss the genuine meaning of life, the value of friendship, the importance of relationships, and most significantly, the value of freedom. The meaning of freedom will be portrayed in the movie Uunchai. The movie takes a while to get into the tale, as we can tell from the introductions of the main characters and their motivations. The movie picks up after the trio decides to travel to Mount Everest to scatter their friend Bhupend’s ashes where his soul resides.
While the sluggish narrator makes us feel a little bored, the proper amount of comedy and the core emotion gripped you till the very end. Regardless of their ages, the trio’s attempts to persuade their families to climb Everest draw you into the movie and make you part of it. However, once they arrive at the base, Amitabh Bachhan, Boman Irani, and Anupam Kher’s comedy is nothing more than pyrotechnics.
The rest of the cast, which also included Sarika, Neena Gupta, and Parineeti Chopra, gave it their all. However, the legends of acting Amitab, Boman Irani, Anupam Kher, and Danny Denzongpa really outdid themselves with their performances. They brought every emotion to the screen flawlessly.
Congratulations to renowned director Sooraj Barjatya for putting them in front of the camera and discussing direction; while he was only partially successful in capturing their attention, the script he wrote was strong.
Technically, Uunchai is alright, but the Everest backdrop VFX are awful, and Manoj Kumar Khatel’s visuals are alright. Amit Trivedi’s soundtrack is good, and the rest of the team tried their best.
Overall, Uunchai is the most straightforward movie that conveys the value of friendship and the actual meaning of freedom.
