Charmy Kaur was born in Vasai to Punjabi and Sikh parents. Her parents are Deepak Singh Uppal and Deepak Kaur Uppal. To finish high school, she enrolled at the Carmelite Convent in Vasai, India.

She debuted in the Telugu film Nee Thodu Kavali when she was just 15 years old (2002). Even though the film was a financial failure, Charmy was able to raise her profile in the south Indian cinema industry. Next, she appeared in T. Rajendar’s Kadhal Azhivathillai alongside Silambarasan (also in Tamil). At the time, she was the lead in the Malayalam movie Kattuchembakam, directed by Vinayan. Her return to Telugu films began with Srikanth’s Neeke Manasichaanu, and continued with Krishna Vamsi’s Sri Anjaneyam and Ravi Teja’s dramatic turn in Chanti. Her first big break in Telugu was the film Gowri, in which she featured alongside Sumanth.
Dongala Mutha, directed by Ram Gopal Varma, reunited Charmy and Ravi Teja onscreen. In 2012, she appeared in several films in small roles, including Dhamarukam, Naayak, and Yaare Koogadali. She then went on to star in a number of Bollywood films, including Zila Ghaziabad and R… Rajkumar. She was just highlighted in Jyothi Lakshmi by Puri Jagannadh. Her portrayal of a reporter came in her 50th film, Pratighatana. Besides producing her own film, Jyothi Lakshmi, Charmme Kaur has worked on the production of Rogue, a Telugu and Kannada bilingual starring debutante Ishan, and Paisa Vasool, starring Nandamuri Bala Krishna. Puri Jagannadh, a legendary director in South India, directed all three of these films.
Puri Connects is a media company that organises and promotes events and broadcasts content. She is currently helping her good friend, the film’s director Puri Jagannadh, with the production of the film Mehbooba, which will be released under the Puri Connects Banner. Puri Jagannadh will not only star in the film, but he will also direct and produce it under his Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies Banner so that he may break his son, Akash Puri, into the business. Charmme Kaur said in May 2019 that she would transition from acting to film production.
