Nassar made his film debut in Kalyana Agathigal, directed by the legendary K.Balachander, in a supporting role. Following that, he became a regular in villainous roles in films like S.P.Muthuraman’s Velaikaran and Vanna Kanavugal. Playing a police officer in Mani Ratnam’s film Nayagan was his big break. He went on to appear in numerous films by Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan, including Roja, Thevar Magan, Bombay, and Kuruthipunal, after this part.

Nassar’s first film as director, “Avatharam,” is about a folk art collective and their challenges. This picture was well-received by reviewers, but it wasn’t a commercial success.
