Danayya (born Dasari Veera Venkata Danayya) has been a producer in Telugu films ever since the inception of the Indian film industry. His first film was the fantasy comedy Jamba Lakidi Pamba (1992), for which he received credit as a producer.
DVV Danayya Early Life
His birth name, Dasari Veera Venkata Danayya, is a very long and complicated one. A local of the small village of Palapudi, located in the region formerly known as the West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. He was always engrossed in movies, even as a young child. Padipantalu (1976) and Meghasandesam (1982) are only two of many movies that were shot there. He became fascinated with filmmaking just by spending time on the set. His parents were completely against him pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.

After being married, he went against everyone’s advice and moved to Madras to play for the Jandhyala squad. he and Jandhyala worked together on Rendu Rellu Aaru (1986). After that, he got a job in film production and has been there since.
Danayya and E. V. V. Satyanarayana became fast friends during their time spent working together on several films. Danayya’s first film, the fantasy comedy Jamba Lakidi Pamba, has EVV as a co-producer (1993). The film humorously explores sexism and women’s rights by exploring the potential outcomes of reversing traditional gender roles. The film did very well at the box office.
Sometime afterwards, he worked with E. V. V. Satyanarayana on the below-average earnings Maavidaakulu (1998). His next film, Samudram (1999), was directed by Krishna Vamsi and was only somewhat successful at the box office. The Malayalam film Kottaram Veettile Apputtan (1998) was adapted into the 2000 Tamil film Manasunna Maaraju, directed by Muthyala Subbaiah. It was a commercial success.
The following film he directed, starring Balakrishna, Seema Simham (2002), was a commercial failure. Juniors, starring Allari Naresh, was his 2003 Telugu version of the Tamil film Thulluvadho Ilamai. A lack of ticket sales meant the film bombed. His second film, 2003’s Oka Radha Iddaru Krishnula Pelli, was also a commercial success.
A commercial triumph that Puri Jagannadh produced and directed in 2003, Sivamani was promoted by him.
Desamuduru (2006), directed by Puri Jagannadh, featured Allu Arjun in a starring role. It was one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of 2007 and a big financial success. Success followed, with films like Dubai Seenu (2007), Krishna (2008), Oy! (2009), Julayi (2012), Naayak (2013), Ninnu Kori (2017), Bharat Ane Nenu (2018), and RRR (Royal Roarers Return) (2018) among his most recent releases (2022). While it’s only the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of all time, RRR has the largest budget of any film ever made. It was nominated for Best Action/Adventure Film, Best International Film, and Best Film at the 47th Saturn Awards.
