Karunakaran Biography
Karunakaran Education
Karunakaran received his secondary education at Sri Akilandeswari Vidyalaya in Trichy and later graduated from Sastra University with a degree in chemical engineering.
Karunakaran Early Life
Karunakaran was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, on September 21, 1981. His father had previously worked with RAW, and he was born in New Delhi. Before moving to Trichy with his parents, Karunakaran first met Nalan Kumarasamy, his future partner and a fellow short filmmaker, in Chennai. He followed an information technology job after graduating from college and eventually got work with Accenture.
Karunakaran Career
Before he rose to fame in Hollywood, he was an IT specialist for Accenture. He made the decision to pursue acting when Nalan Kumarswamy, a boyhood friend and budding filmmaker, urged him to appear in a short film. He was given his major break in feature films by acclaimed actor and director Sundar C after receiving praise for his performances in short films, and he became well-known after giving an outstanding performance as Vijay Sethupathi’s friend in the movie Pizza (2012).
Karunakaran continued to shine after his breakthrough performance in Pizza in Soodhu Kavvum (2013), which led to his first Vijay Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. After 2013, the actor had a tonne of offers, and since then, he’s starred in more than 30 movies, mostly in supporting roles. Later, he was asked to take part in a short film that Director Nalan was making for the Naalaya Iyakkunar reality programme. Additionally, he played minor roles in Sundar C.’s movies. He became well-known after he was chosen to play Vijay Sethupathi’s sidekick in Karthik Subbaraj’s Pizza (2012). Because of how well-received Karunakaran’s performances in Nalan’s first major motion picture, Soodhu Kavvum, were, Nalan decided to use him in subsequent movies.
