Karthik Subbaraj Career

He produced the short film Kaatchipizhai in Madurai, which would go on to win the Nalaya Iyakunar award. Jigarthanda was supposed to be Karthik’s first film, but he was unable to complete it due to financial constraints. After that, he contemplated the background of the inexpensive pizza that introduced 7.1 surround sound. The movie has been translated into Hindi, Bengali, and Kannada as a result of its commercial success. This gave him the opportunity to direct Jigarthanda, which received positive reviews from critics and won the lead actor, Bobby Simha, a national award.

Mani Ratnam and S. Shankar, two of India’s most well-known filmmakers, have both praised Subbaraj. Iraivi (2016), Subbaraj’s third film, earned positive reviews from critics, and he was singled out for his portrayal of society’s treatment of women. The movie also looked at the various ways that men’s attitudes and deeds can affect the trajectory of a woman’s life. He also exposed the trauma he endured at the hands of the producer of his second movie through the character of SJ Surya. After that, he directed the silent thriller Mercury (2018), starring Prabhu Deva, although it was not a financial success. He produced the web series Kallachirippu, which was distributed through Stone Bench.

The action picture Petta served as Rajinikanth’s 166th film, and it was directed by Subbaraj (2019). Anirudh Ravichander replaced Santhosh Narayanan, who had previously provided the score for the director’s earlier works, as the film’s composer. Kalanithi Maran of Sun Pictures produced the movie. Nawazuddin Siddiqui made his debut in a Tamil movie with this one. He also produced the Amazon original movie Penguin, starring Keerthy Suresh. He co-created the online series Triples for Hotstar Originals with Jai and Vani Bhojan. In a similar vein, he directed the Vikram-starring movie Mahaan, which debuted in theatres thanks to Amazon Prime Video.
