The day of Mysskin’s birth was September 20, 1971. The nickname was chosen by Mysskin, whose real name is Shanmugha Raja, after being influenced by the protagonist of Dostoevsky’s The Idiot. Mysskin has completed his official schooling in Tamil and is an avid reader. When director Kathir asked him about joining his crew, he was working in a bookstore. With a little-funded picture that went on to become one of the year’s biggest hits, Chithiram Pesuthadi made his directorial debut.

Mysskin Career

After reading about Prince Myshkin in Dostoevsky’s The Idiot, he adopted the name Mysskin. He is an avid reader and acquired his schooling in Tamil. He was working in a bookstore when director Kathir first spoke to him. He didn’t appear in any of his movies while they were dating for about eight months. Vincent Selva, who previously directed Jithan, was the director of the youth, his first picture. Despite having a little budget, Mysskin’s debut film as a filmmaker, Chithiram Pesudhadi, was a critical and financial success. The film, a simple love story, is successful because of its innovative storytelling style.

The film’s two leads, Narain and Bhavana, were well-known after their initial triumph. Anjathe, the following movie he directed, was a tremendous hit in Tamil cinema. The film received positive reviews from all critics. The narrative strategy and mise en scène of the movie were praised as being typical of the Tamil new wave. There were performances by Narain, Prasanna, Vijayalakshmi Ahathian, and the legendary Pandiarajan that had never been seen before. Both Mysskin movies included his distinctive yellow saree item numbers, which delighted viewers of all ages.

Pisaasu debuted on December 19th, 2014, and because of its realistic portrayal of supernatural, horror, and romance aspects, it soon became a commercial and critical success. It was one of the biggest box office successes of 2014 and the most successful Tamil film of all time. On September 14, 2017, the detective thriller Thupparivaalan, starring Vishal and heavily influenced by Sherlock Holmes, was released.

He played the antagonist opposite Ram in the 2018 movie Savarakathi. Despite receiving high marks from critics, the movie did poorly at the box office. On March 29th, 2019, he also made a significant appearance in the movie Super Deluxe directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja. Udhayanidhi Stalin and Aditi Rao Hydari made their acting debuts in his movie Psycho recently, on January 24, 2020. Both critics and viewers praised the movie, which contributed to the revival of the tired whodunit subgenre.
