Vishal Bhardwaj Biography

Vishal Bhardwaj Education

Vishal and his family moved to Meerut after he finished primary school in Najibabad, and he quickly began playing cricket for the state’s Under-19 team. Bharadwaj subsequently moved to Delhi, where he enrolled in the Hindu College of the University of Delhi to pursue his degree.

Vishal Bhardwaj Early Life

Vishal Bharadwaj, a Brahmin by birth, was born on August 4, 1965 (age 54 as of 2018) in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, India. He was brought up by both Ram Bharadwaj Sr., a sugarcane inspector, and his wife, a housewife. His father also wrote poetry and Hindi film lyrics. He was forced to give up his cricket career since he hurt his thumb during practise. When he was just seventeen years old, he composed his first song. His father was so impressed by the song that he discussed it with the film’s composer, Usha Khanna. She performed that song in the film Yaar Kasam (1985).

Vishal Bharadwaj was born to Ram and Satya Bharadwaj as their son. He had a brother who tragically passed away at a young age in Mumbai while pursuing a profession in film production. Rekha Bhardwaj, a playback vocalist and fellow music student, became his wife. They met for the first time at a University of Delhi gathering. He was one year older than his better half. They raised Aasmaan, a son, together.

Vishal Bhardwaj Career

He used to get together with his friends and play the harmonium as they sang ghazals. He didn’t get a job at Delhi’s CBC music label until a few years later. He eventually made his home in Mumbai and worked as a composer there. He entered the industry in 1995 with his debut film score for Abhay (The Fearless). After serving as the music director for Gulzar’s “Maachis,” he received the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent. The National Film Award for Best Music Direction was given to him for his work on the soundtrack for the 2000 movie Godmother (1999).

In 2002, he directed the horror movie “Makdee,” which became his debut feature. Vishal read William Shakespeare’s “Macbeth,” and was so captivated by the narrative that he made the decision to turn it into a movie. He subsequently teamed up with Abbas Tyrewala at that point. Under the title Maqbool, the film made its debut in 2003. The Mumbai criminal underworld served as the central theme of the film’s plot.

Maqbool was chosen by CNN-IBN as one of the top 100 Hindi movies. It was listed as one of the top 75 Hindi movies of the decade in 2010 by cinema critic Raja Sen. Blood Brother, a short film he made in 2007, is around 13 minutes long. The video shows an HIV-positive young man’s downward spiral.

He was the director of the 2009 movie “Kaminey,” which starred Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor. The movie’s release generated over $10 million in revenue. Later, he discovered more inspiration in “Susanna’s Seven Husbands,” a brief novel by Ruskin Bond. One example is the Vishal-directed film “7 Khoon Maaf,” which is about it and was released in 2011.

He has also directed a number of other movies, including Rangoon, Pataakha, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, and others. His first feature film, “Ishqiya,” made its debut as a director and starring Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, and Arshad Warsi. Vishal has also produced “Dedh Ishqiya” and “Ek Thi Daayan” with Balaji Motion Pictures and Ekta Kapoor. He worked together with Gulzar in the 2015 crime drama Talvar. He has also lent his voice to a range of movies in addition to his job as a composer (including No Smoking, Omkara, U Me Aur Hum, Striker, Kaminey, Haider, etc.).
