Ram Sampath Early Life

In Bombay, India, on July 25, 1977 (he’ll be 43 in 2020), Ram Sampath was born. He is best described by the Leo sun sign. He spent his formative years in the Chembur neighbourhood of Bombay. Sampath was raised in a musical family and developed a strong interest in Carnatic music at a young age. He spent eight years at school studying Carnatic music. Ram started playing piano for a rock band while still a student. Sampath started frequenting recording studios when he was 16 years old in search of opportunities to perform his original songs. He was given the opportunity to score the Femina Miss India 1994 competition as early as 1994.

Ram Sampath comes from a prestigious family as the child of Sampath Ramanujam and Asha Acharia. His parents were music lovers. The name of his younger sister is Mona Sampath Khan. Ram Sampath met Sona Mohapatra in 2002 while she was serving as brand manager for Marico Limited, a manufacturer of consumer goods. The film director Ram Madhvani introduced them. The couple got married on January 16, 2005.

Ram Sampath Career

Ram Sampath wrote jingles for television ads as his first employment. Among others, he has written the music for commercials for Airtel, Docomo, Thums Up, Pepsi, and The Times of India. His film scores include Let’s Talk (2002), Khakee (2004), and Luv Ka The End (2005), to name a few (2011).

Sampath rose to fame after penning the hit song “Bhaag D.K. Bose” for the film “Delhi Belly” (2011). In 2008, he collaborated with the Australian rock group INXS to create Indian versions of the songs “God’s Top Ten,” “Devil’s Party,” and “Afterglow.” Additionally, he has participated in many different theatre performances. He made his television debut in 2009 as a judge on the first season of the singing competition programme MTV Rock On.
