Boman Irani was born on November 2, 1959, to “Irani” Parsi parents who had operated a local bakery and had lived in Mumbai since the city’s infancy. He finished his undergraduate degree at Mumbai’s Mithibai College. He obtained employment as a room service attendant at the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower after completing his education at the polytechnic university.

Irani was born on December 2, 1959, into a Zoroastrian family with Iranian ancestry in what was then known as Bombay. Irani’s father, unfortunately, passed away before he was even born, at the age of only six months. Despite having dyslexia, ADHD, and a lisp, Irani overcame these challenges.

Boman Irani also tried his hand at photography between 1987 and 1989. He had a strong passion for Indian cinema ever since he was a student and trained under Hansraj Sindhia in acting. Since then, he has grown to appreciate British theatre and has increased his understanding of regional British accents. After three years and numerous dates, he finally got down on one knee and got married to Zenobia in 1985. Their boys are Kayoze and Danish Irani. He is a Zoroastrian adherent. Boman Irani was advised by Alyque Padamsee, who is most known for playing Mohammad Ali Jinnah in the ground-breaking biopic Gandhi.
Irani switched from the stage to the big screen in the year 2000. He played a prominent role in the comedy “Munnabhai MBBS” and became well-known for it. Following that, he starred in the highly regarded movie “Lage Raho Munna Bhai,” for which he was honored with a Filmfare award. For his parts in box office successes including “DON,” “3 Idiots,” “No Entry,” “Houseful 2,” and “DON 2,” Boman Irani has received numerous nominations.
