Plabita Borthakur was born on June 17, 1989 (she will be 31 in 2020) in the Assamese Oil India town of Duliajan. She was raised in Kamrup, Assam’s Guwahati. She attended Kendriya Vidyalaya in Duliajan for her elementary and secondary schooling before transferring to Jai Hind College in Mumbai.
Because of her musician father, Plabita’s passion for music grew from an early age. While in school, she participated actively in athletics and the arts while still achieving academic success. Plabita enrolled in Barry John’s acting class as soon as she graduated from high school. Plabita started the band Manu & Chow and started performing live after finishing high school.

Plabita started her career as a musician with the group Manu & Chow, and she then started doing television commercials for brands including Paytm, Britania, Paper Boat, CaratLane, Tata Sky, and Livon. Plabita made her acting debut in 2014, playing the younger sister of Anushka Sharma. Later, she played the role of “Rehana Abidi” in the movie “Lipstick Under My Burkha.” She was also a part of “Waah Zindagi” and “Chhote Nawab.” Plabita played “Meghna Verma” in the 2020 Amazon Prime original movie “Breathe Into The Shadows.”
