Sajid Nadiadwala Biography

Sajid Nadiadwala Education

After completing his education at Mumbai’s Don Bosco High School and H. R. College, where he earned degrees in law and accounting, Sajid joined J.P. Dutta’s Ghulami as an assistant director when he was 21 years old.

Sajid Nadiadwala Early Life

Sajid comes from a family of filmmakers because his grandparents, Abdul Karim Nadiadwala and Sulieman Nadiadwala, produced a number of Bollywood movies. In 1955, his grandfather relocated his family from Malad, Mumbai, to Nadiad, Gujarat. He started a network of theatres there. He was raised in a cinematic milieu where watching movies was commonplace.

Sajid Nadiadwala Career

Early on, Sajid worked as a production assistant at his uncle’s company to get his start in the business. When he was 25 years old, he founded Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt Ltd, his own production company. In 1992, his first film, Zulm Ki Hukumat, starring Govinda and Dharmendra, was released. In his subsequent movie, Waqt Hamara Hai, he decided to cast Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar for their big-screen debuts.

He produced the 1996 hit film Jeet, starring Salman Khan and Sunny Deol, which made Sunny’s hook step in the song “Yaara O Yaara” well-known. Salman Khan played a dual part in his subsequent film, Judwaa, which was a career high point and cult favourite for the actor. His subsequent movies included 2004’s Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, starring Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, and Salman Khan, and 2000’s Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, starring Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee, and Preity Zinta. His 2006 movie Jaan-E-Mann did poorly at the box office.

Released in 2007, Heyy Babyy was a commercial triumph for Nadiadwala and filmmaker Sajid Khan’s first film (director). In a first for the business, he hired Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards, and Brandon Routh for the 2009 Bollywood film Kambakkht Ishq. Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Kumar both played the main characters in the movie. Nadiadwala claimed that the moment he signed Sylvester Stallone for the movie was historic because he was so smitten of the actor that he was torn between asking for an autograph and signing the contract.
