P. Ravi Shankar, who is originally from India, spent his formative years in the city of Chennai. Alongside Kannada actor Dr. Rajkumar, Ravi Shankar’s mother Krishna Jyothy Pudipeddi appeared in movies like Makkala Rajya and Sri Krishna Garudi. The father of Ravi Shankar, Pudipeddi Jogeswara Sharma, worked as a dubbing artist and performer in a number of Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil movies. His older sibling, Pudipeddi Sai Kumar, started out in the film business as a dubbing artist before switching to starring in Kannada movies.
In 2018, Ravishankar made known that he will be introducing his son Adhvey as an actor in a Kannada film he would be directing. Shankar has a son named Adhvey with his wife, the Punjabi woman Suchil.
