Alone Review & Ratings | Hit or Flop?

Alone Review: Mohanlal is one of the few stars in the film business whose movies are viewed regardless of the critical reception they receive, and he is one of those actors who works in Malayalam. Even though he has a large following in Malayalam and his films are always well received in theatres, his most recent film, “Monster,” was not successful in its attempt to entertain audiences in Malayalam theatres. Story

An individual by the name of Kalidas is restricted as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic while they are in the process of travelling from Coimbatore to Kerala. He has a few unexplained encounters at the home he is currently live in, which prompts him to examine the events that took place in that spot in the past and leads to many unexpected twists and turns.

Verdict

It is not an easy effort to make an entire movie with just one character, as the audience may become sick of watching the same actor for such a lengthy duration of time on screen. However, this is something that can be done. One example of this type of experimental film is “Alone,” which centres entirely on the performance of Mohanlal as the character Kalidas. The other characters in the film are only audible, but they do not appear on screen.

The movie, “Alone,” takes place during a time of lockdown and focuses on a single guy and the circumstances that he is forced to go through in an unknown location because of constraints. Even though the movie gets off to a very slow start, there are a few sequences in the first and later halves of the film that make it intriguing. However, when the entire film is considered, it is lacking in appeal because there are so many scenes that are drawn out.

Mohanlal’s performance was the catalyst for the film’s upward trajectory. Even though there is just one character seen on screen at any given time, the audience may not be bothered by this fact because Mohanlal gives a superb performance.

The movie Seeking Alone seems to be fine technically. The score for the background music, which was written by “4 Musics,” is fitting for the events that are taking place and gives the necessary adrenaline to a few of the moments. Although Abinandhan Ramanujam and Pramod K. Pillai did an excellent job with the cinematography, there are a few scenes that feature overly saturated colours that should have been adjusted during the digital intermediate process. The editing could have been done with more precision. The production values are satisfactory overall.
