Verdict
Hindi filmmakers have already produced films like “India Lockdown” and a few other web series on various platforms that depict the hardships that people went through during the lockdown that was abruptly declared owing to a pandemic. In some of the movies that have already been released, some filmmakers from various film sectors have used comparable scenes to those in Bheed.
Bheed has an excellent cast whose performances will captivate us throughout the film. This film contains situations that will undoubtedly resonate with many individuals who endured a great deal during the pandemic. There are also situations that depict the darkest aspect of humanity, even when others are in mortal danger. Several parts in the film are based on actual occurrences with some cinematic liberties added, and it is novel to view the entire film in black and white.
When it comes to performances, Rajkummar Rao is one of those actors who can effortlessly depict any role and make it believable, and he does it again with an effortless performance that makes us believe his character’s feelings. As usual, Pankaj Kapoor and Ashutosh Rana were terrific. All other performers, including Bhumi Pednekar, Dia Mirza, Kritika Kamra, and Kumud Mishra, played their roles as required by their characters.
Technically, Bheed’s film is impressive. The background music composed by Anurag Saikia is appropriate for the on-screen circumstances. The cinematographer Soumik Mukherjee deserves praise for his efforts in selecting the appropriate frames and lighting to film the entire film in black and white. Production values are decent.
Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha attempted to incorporate the role of politics, religion, and caste in such lethal situations by creating a drama with profound emotions that resonate with the Indian audience. After the disaster of Anek, the director makes an excellent comeback with Bheed.
Ultimately, Bheed is an emotional drama that may be appreciated for its sincere production and outstanding acting.
