National Award-winning filmmaker Sandeep Raj made a comeback with his second directorial venture “Mowgli,” a film that arrived in theatres with decent expectations. However, the movie struggled to connect with audiences on the big screen, largely due to its extended runtime and slow-paced storytelling, despite notable performances by the lead actors.

Although the film showcased strong acting and technical finesse, viewers felt that the narration was stretched, impacting the overall engagement. As a result, Mowgli witnessed a modest theatrical response and is now preparing for its digital debut.
Digital Premiere Details
In a swift post-theatrical move, the makers have finalized the OTT release of Mowgli. The film is scheduled to premiere digitally on January 01, 2026, just two weeks after hitting cinemas. The digital streaming rights have been secured by ETV Win, where the movie will be available for subscribers.
Star Cast and Technical Team
Mowgli stars Roshan Kanakala, Sakkshi Mhadolkar, Bandi Saroj Kumar, and Harsha Chemudu in prominent roles. The project is backed by producers TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad, with Sandeep Raj serving as both writer and director.
On the technical front, Kaala Bhairava composed the film’s music, Rama Maruthi handled cinematography, and Peekay oversaw the editing.
A Second Life on OTT?
With its arrival on OTT, Mowgli now gets an opportunity to reach a broader digital audience. Whether the film finds better appreciation on streaming platforms remains to be seen, but its OTT release could offer viewers a fresh perspective away from theatrical expectations.
