Movie Verdict
Maja Ma takes its time at first, letting us get to know each of its characters and the setting they live in. The story of the film is stale, but the method and narration make it watchable. The film has a few exciting scenes, but it also drags with a few needless, overly theatrical ones. The movie’s more emotional scenes fall flat and make us feel bored because of the overly dramatic scripting, but there are a few hilarious exchanges and occurrences that naturally arise in the course of the plot that will make us chuckle.
Madhuri Dixit performed admirably as Pallavi, and she still has a stunning appearance. Gajaraj Rao steals the show with his endearing acting, magnetic screen presence, and spot-on comedic timing. It would be wonderful if the Hindi film industry could cast him in more motion pictures. Ritwik Bhowmik, who portrays Madhuri’s child, has a good screen presence and offers a strong performance. Srishti Shrivastava is the kind of actress who, as in this movie, can bring any character to life via the excellence of her performance. Ninad Kamat, Rajit Kapur, Barkha Singh, and the rest of the cast all did their roles well.
Maja Ma’s design is successful. You’re very likely to start bopping your head to the beats when listening to songs written by Souumil & Siddharth, Gourov Dasgupta, or Anurag Sharma. The music in the movie nicely captures the feeling. The film contained many colorful moments, and Debojeet Ray performed a fantastic job operating the camera. The level of production quality is acceptable.
Anand Tiwari, the director, wanted “Maja Ma” to be a family-friendly, clean movie. While there were a few standout scenes, the overall quality of the production and the dialogue are old.
Maja Ma is suitable for people of all ages to enjoy throughout Navaratri as a whole.
