Achu Rajamani Education

Achu Rajamani Early Life

A. Chidambaranath, a music director widely considered as a foundational member of the contemporary Malayalam music scene, is the grandfather of Achu. His father, Rajamani, was a composer for more than a thousand films in the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages. He graduated from Chennai’s Loyola College with a degree.

Despite coming from a musical family, Achu has always desired to fly. He made the decision to pursue music instead of becoming a pilot, and eventually made it as a full-time musician. Before starting his own career as a composer, he briefly served as M. M. Keeravani’s assistant.

Achu Rajamani Career

Achu has contributed to the creation of 410 songs and over 175 films by programming the piano. He has added piano accompaniment as a professional musician to many of his father’s songs. His debut project as a keyboard player was the Priyadarshan-directed Bollywood film Chup Chup Ke (2006). The Malayalam film Keerthi Chakra’s sequel, Kurukshetra, included his score for the background music (2008). The score that Achu produced was well liked.

After this brief period, Achu received his big break when he was invited to write the music for the Telugu film Nenu Meeku Telusa (2008). After that, he worked on Kurradu, the Telugu remake of Polladhavan (the Tamil version was shot first) (2009).

Achu was a playback vocalist in addition to being a composer. M. Jayachandran composed Take It Easy, his song from the Malayalam movie Happy Husbands, which was a big hit that year.

2012 saw the release of Achu’s first full-length Tamil soundtrack for the movie Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey. The album received positive reviews and did well in the marketplace, winning the Grammy for Best Album of the Year. The most well-known Telugu songs he released that year included Bujji Pilla and Devatha from Potugadu, Padipoya from DK Bose, and others. From the 2015 movie Urumeen, Siru Nadai and Hey Umayaal were featured on the soundtrack and went on to become enormous hits. His song Pondatti from the movie Golisoda 2 (2018) stood at the top of the radio charts for over 11 weeks after its June 2018 release.

In addition to writing songs and playing music, Achu had a professional racing career from 2009 to 2012. While in school, he also engaged in and excelled at sprinting and other sports, winning numerous prizes. He ceased working in the film industry in 2009 to concentrate on his racing career. He had also played cricket for some time. He made his acting debut in the Telugu movie Gaddam Gang in 2015, where he swiftly rose to fame.
