Verdict
The Agilan movie establishes the major characters gradually before launching into the main plot. You risk having a negative theatre experience if you provide any storyline details. A few good battle scenes and sequences in the first half of the film will amuse a large audience. Expectations for the second half will undoubtedly increase after the interval block.
In line with expectations, the film delivers some enjoyable scenes in the second half leading up to a satisfying ending that will leave us feeling as like we saw a worthwhile film.
Jayam Ravi once again gave his all during his acting performances and delighted the crowd with his timing. He deserves praise for pursuing a variety of topics rather than limiting himself to commercial artists. Tanya Ravichandran and Priya Bhavani Shankar only had minor roles in the film; they performed the tasks required of them. Every other actor performed as needed for the characters.
Technically, Agilan looks alright. Although Sam CS’s songs aren’t all that great, he once again showed his talent for creating background music. Vivek Anand’s cinematography may have been more effective. Excellent production values.
With Agilan, director N Kalyana Krishnan attempted to introduce a new genre of commercial entertainment and was successful.
Agilan is an action thriller that should be seen in a theatre overall.
