Chandralekha Story
Meena and Vasundhara are long-lost sisters; Meena was left by her parents when she was a young child. Vasundhara has Chandra, while Meena has Lekha. Vasundhara raised Lekha while Meena reared Chandra; however, the roles were switched when the kidnappers arrived at the hospital. Lekha takes like her adoptive mother in being devious and snobbish, whereas Chandra is altruistic and brave. Meena only knows that Chandra and Lekha were switched at birth. Later circumstances make it clear that Meena is Lekha’s biological sister as well as Ashok’s adopted sister.
Sabari, a decent man who runs a charitable matchmaking agency, now enters the picture. From the same matrimony where Chandra and Sabari first met and secretly fell in love, Meena picked Chandra’s spouse for her. After meeting Sabari, Lekha develops feelings for him. Vasundhara has set up Chandra’s marriage to convicted criminal Vignesh in order to exact revenge on Chandra for hitting her during a journalism meeting and Meena for being the most adored sister-in-law. Despite Chandra’s deep affection for Sabari, Meena and Selvam (Chandra’s adopted father) are confident that Chandra will accept their proposal of marriage.
