Crash Course Web Series Review & Ratings | Hit or Flop?

Crash Course Web Series Review: After much anticipation, Amazon Prime’s original web series Crash Course premiered today. The trailer for the show piqued interest because its premise seemed similar to that of TVF’s Kota Factory, another show about students trying to get into IIT and the rivalry between coaching institutes. However, talented actor Annu Kapoor played a pivotal role in Crash Course.

Crash Course Web Series Review

Story

New students at Kota’s two most prestigious, competitive coaching institutes are the focus of the drama series Crash Course. It’s no secret that Ratanraj Jindal and Arvind Batra have been rivals for quite some time. Those people own all of Kota’s premier educational institutions and aren’t going to rest until they’ve consolidated their monopoly. Their competition is like a game of chess, with no pieces being spared. Educators and learners alike are used as movable pieces. About half a million people visit the city of Kota every year with hopes and dreams, and these eight main students stand in for them. Beginning with a sense of community and shared experiences, their student life soon becomes more competitive and demanding. The show follows the lives of a group of high school students as they make friends, fall in love, go through heartbreak, succumb to peer pressure, and gradually lose their childhood innocence. Students and coaching institution proprietors come from two very different worlds, and when they mix, chaos ensues. It gets more dangerous, there are more at stake, and there are more competing agendas.

Verdict

Even though TVF is well-known for educationally themed films and web series, such as Crash Course, the show manages to keep your attention throughout. The pilot episode does a good job of setting the stage by introducing the 8 main characters and their motivations, and director Vijay Maurya’s foreshadowing of the series’ main conflict and the introduction of the leading coaching institute, MD Annu Kapoor, is a big plus.

We can relate to the series from the very beginning because we have all seen the struggle of students to crack the tests, and the series effectively highlighted how students’ minds are affected by this rat race. There are a total of ten episodes.

Annu Kapoor’s acting and dialogue diction in every aspect just nailed it, and the rest of the eight students did their best; furthermore, props to writer Vijay Maurya for introducing this topic, and to Vijay Maurya for presenting it so well and succeeding in engaging the audience.

The photography in Crash Course is solid, and while the score could have been stronger, the rest of the production values are commendable.

When all is said and done, Crash Course is a respectable show that can be enjoyed by a wide range of viewers.
