He attended the Jayakeralam School in Pulluvazhy, Kochi, and the Sree Sankara College in Kalady, Kerala, but dropped out. He developed a keen interest in movies and the media from a young age. He struggled with the need to forgo his studies at Sree Sankara College in favour of pursuing his passion.
Dinesh Prabhakar Early Life
Dinesh Nair was born as the second child of Prabhakaran Nair and Sarojini Amma in Pulluvazhi, Perumbavoor, Ernakulam, Kerala. His interest in film and the Hindi language during his school years was greatly influenced by the Doordarshan serials Circus (TV series), Humraahi (picture), and Tamas, as well as the TV series Chitrahaar and Surabhi. Ultimately, he moved to Mumbai to be nearer to his older sister. He began working as a medical supply store assistant, which gave him the means to support himself while he started learning Hindi. He had to live in Mumbai to grow as an actor, dubber, and casting director.
He spent his time in Mumbai making vain attempts to break into the Hollywood film industry. This occurred in 2002 when he played a small part in his first movie, Meesa Madhavan. Due to his success in this role, he was offered additional roles in commercially successful Malayalam films. He established an advertising company in the interim with his friend and fellow dubbing artist Jismon.
Dinesh Prabhakar Career
His first acting role was as the main character’s friend in the movie “Meesa Madhavan.” His performance was a success, which led to additional Malayalam movie roles for him. Later, he co-founded a marketing company with another dubbing artist named Jismon. He provided the voiceover for Pepsi and Coca-Cola commercials starring Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, and Amitabh Bachchan in Malayalam. Prabhakar is frequently credited as the first casting director in Mollywood, or Malayalam cinema.
