Movie Verdict
In recent years, Hindi film has seen a large number of remakes. All of the top actors are supporting the remakes of southern hit movies, and many of them are destroying the films’ souls by adding pointless elements to them. This movie stands out as an exception because it was made by the same filmmaker who handled the original and succeeded in keeping the audience interested with his storyline and narrative. The film has been altered very little from the source material.
Although the movie appears to be slow-moving, the narration is necessary for the story since it will gradually draw you into the details. With a few exceptions, the first and second halves of the film seem engaging at all times and filled with intricate details. The filmmaker did a good job of handling the main character’s past and making the connection to the case he is working on to make it more fascinating.
Rajkummar Rao does superbly as Vicky, who is dealing with a trauma and a challenging case at the same time. Sanya Malhotra did well considering the short screen time and role she had. Every additional actor contributed as needed to the movie.
The movie looks great technically. Manikandan was too skilled with the camera, and the colour grading fits the tone of the picture nicely. The movie’s songs and background music are both good. A few sequences in the first part of the film that seem to drag on a bit may have been edited by Garry. Director Sailesh Kolanu faithfully recreated the original without adding any superfluous elements.
Last but not least, HIT – The First Case is an intriguing thriller that must be seen for its original production and actor Rajkummar Rao’s powerful performance.
