He attended YWCA Primary School (Now BHEL Matriculation Higher Secondary School) and Bishop Heber Higher Secondary School (Teppakulam) before earning a degree in English literature from Bishop Heber College in Trichy, despite having initially intended to pursue a science-related field of study. He now studies literature because she is a single parent and cannot afford the exorbitant tuition fees for a science degree.
His next stop was Jamal Mohamed College, where he pursued an MA in English. After that, he travelled to Madras University to pursue his independent studies of Carnatic music.
