He received his education at the Government Boys High School in Perumbavoor. At Sree Sankara College in Kalady, Kerala, Jayaram then continued his education with the goal of earning a BA in economics. According to sources, Jayaram started a career as a medical sales representative after finishing college. Jayaram made his screen debut in Padmarajan’s 1988 mystery-thriller “Aparan.” In the movie, Jayaram played both the antagonist Uthaman and the protagonist Vishwanathan. His career in Tamil cinema began with his first appearance as Chellappa in the 1993 movie Gokulam.
He, Mammootty, and Suresh Gopi appeared in the Joshi-directed film Dhruvam. Gopi has acted in a variety of movies, including Thooval Sparsam by Viji Thampi and Jayaraj, Paithrukam by Sibi Malayil, and Nagarangalil Chennu Raparkam (1990). He co-starred with Mohanlal in the 1989 Bharath Gopi movies Ulsavapittennu and Peruvannapurathe Visheshangal.
He contributed to several movies, including Kadinjool Kalyanam, Ayalathe Addeham, Meleparambil Aanveedu, CID Unnikrishnan B.A., B.Ed., Aniyan Bava Chetan Bava Aadyathe Kanmani, Swapna Lokathe Balabhaskaran, and Kadhanayakan. He played Aravindan alongside Sreenivasan and Mukesh in Siddique’s Friends, the highest-grossing Malayalam movie of the year with a global total of 11 crores. Few of his commercially successful movies from the first decade of the twenty-first century include Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal, Yathrakarude Sradhakku, Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum, Manassinakkare, and Veruthe Oru Bharya. His critically acclaimed performances include Lonappan in Rajeev Kumar’s Seaham and Karunakaran in B. Kannan’s Theerthadanam, to name just two.
