Kalamkaval Set for OTT Premiere: Streaming Date Officially Locked

Malayalam cinema legend Mammootty continues to prove why he remains one of the most versatile actors in Indian cinema. Even at the age of 74, the veteran superstar shows no signs of slowing down and is constantly seeking challenging roles that push his creative boundaries. His recent film “Kalamkaval” stands as yet another example of his fearless choice of characters.

In Kalamkaval, Mammootty essays the intense role of a psycho serial killer, a performance that generated significant curiosity and discussion ahead of its theatrical release. While the film carried strong pre-release buzz, it went on to receive an above-average response at the box office, drawing appreciation particularly for its performances and technical finesse.

Now, the much-awaited OTT update is here. Sony LIV has officially acquired the digital streaming rights of Kalamkaval, and the platform has announced that the film will begin streaming from January 16, 2026. This move is expected to help the film reach a wider audience across regions and languages.

Apart from Mammootty, the film boasts a strong ensemble cast including Vinayakan, Gibin Gopinath, Gayatri Arun, Rajisha Vijayan, Shruti Ramachandran, Azees Nedumangad, Kunchan, and Biju Pappan, among others, who play pivotal roles in the narrative.

Kalamkaval is produced under the banner of Mammootty Kampany and is directed by Jithin K. Jose. The film’s technical crew features Faisal Ali as the cinematographer, Mujeeb Majeed as the music composer, and Praveen Prabhakar handling the editing, contributing to the film’s gripping cinematic experience.

With its OTT premiere locked, Kalamkaval is set to find a new wave of viewers on Sony LIV, adding another notable title to Mammootty’s illustrious filmography.
