Lakshmi Manchu is the name of actor Mohan Babu and his wife Vidya Devi’s daughter. She has two brothers, Vishnu and Manoj Manchu. She was born in Chennai, so she speaks three languages fluently: Tamil, Telugu, and English. A Chennai, India, IT expert named Andy Srinivasan became Manchu’s husband in 2006. The surrogate mother successfully delivered a baby girl to the happy parents. They’ve settled in Hyderabad as permanent residents.

Manchu began acting at the age of four and has since appeared in twenty films in India and several guest appearances on American television. Her family owns a film production company called Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures, which has released 56 films. She auditioned for the role of Kadal in the 2011 Tamil film Kadal directed by Mani Ratnam and got it. After playing the lead role of Celina, a poor villager, in this film, she was disappointed to find herself with few acting offers in Tamil.
She appeared alongside Malayalam film icon Mohanlal in the film “Monster.” Movies like 2008’s Uu Kodathara? and Jhummandi Naadam and 2008’s Nenu Meeku Telusa…?. Her filmography includes Ulikki Padathara. (2012), Gundello Godari (2013), and Dongaata (2015).
