A film releasing without major hype and turning into an industry hit is a rare achievement in Malayalam cinema. Yet, “Lokah Chapter 1” has done exactly that, becoming the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. Made on a modest budget of just ₹30 crore, the movie went on to set new box office records and captivate audiences across languages.
The OTT rights of Lokah Chapter 1 were acquired by JioHotstar, and the platform has now officially confirmed that the film will start streaming from October 31, 2025. Fans from Kerala and beyond are eagerly waiting to revisit the cinematic spectacle from the comfort of their homes.
Following the film’s tremendous theatrical success, producer and actor Dulquer Salmaan announced that “Lokah Chapter 2” is already in the works. A short promo teaser has been released, giving fans a glimpse of what’s next in this exciting superhero franchise. Dulquer, who also plays one of the key superheroes, thanked audiences for making the film a milestone in Malayalam cinema.
The film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan, Naslen, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian, Chandu Salim Kumar, Raghunath Paleri, Tovino Thomas, Dulquer Salmaan, and Soubin Shahir in major roles.
Written and directed by Dominic Arun, Lokah Chapter 1 features music by Jakes Bejoy, cinematography by Nimish Ravi, and editing by Chaman Chakko. With its upcoming OTT debut, Lokah Chapter 1 is set to reach an even wider audience, continuing its record-breaking legacy.
