M.M.Keeravani Education

Keeravni was born on July 4, 1961, in the Godavari region of Andhra Pradesh, India. Keeravani has always had a deep appreciation for song and music. In fact, he shares a kinship with the well-known filmmaker S.S.Rajamouli. All of his films feature original compositions by M.M.Keeravani. In addition to his collaboration with Rajamouli, Keeravani left his own mark on the industry with his work on the film Annamayya, for which he won the National Award for best music direction.

Keeravani was born in the city of Kovvur, Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, to parents of Telugu descent. His cousins include the director S.S.Rajamouli and the music director/singer M.M. Srilekha. V. Vijayendra Prasad was his uncle, and he wrote and directed Telugu and Bollywood movies. His wife M.M.Srivali works as a film industry line producer. His eldest child, Kaala Bhairava, sang on an album he produced. In the film Mathu Vadalara, his younger son Sri Simha made his acting debut.

M.M.Keeravani Career

After graduating from college in 1987, M. M. Keeravani took a job as assistant music director for the critically acclaimed composer K. Chakravarthy. His work may be seen in movies like Collectorgari Abbayi and Bharathamlo Arjunudu, both of which were released in the 1980s. It was expected that the role of a poor musician in the 1990 film Kalki, in which he starred, would be his break. It is generally agreed that he made his acting debut the following year, in Mouli’s film Manasu Mamatha.

His big break came when Ram Gopal Varma hired him to score the film Kshana Kshanam. After gaining prominence thanks to the film Criminal, he established himself as a mainstay in the South Indian and Hindi film industry. Later, in 1997, he was honoured for his work on the Telugu film Annamayya with the National Film Award for Best Music Direction. The Tamil Nadu State Film Award is one of his many accolades among his eight Filmfare Awards and eleven State Nandi Awards.
