Mahesh Narayanan revealed in June 2020 that his next project would be the experimental film C U Soon, starring Fahadh Faasil. According to Mahesh, the film was more of a quick tutorial on using an iPhone than a full-length feature.

It was also mentioned that the film will be shot at Faasil’s flat and would run for 60 to 65 minutes (the actual running length was 1 hour and 38 minutes). The Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) rejected the filming despite the Kerala Film Employees Federation of Kerala’s (KFEF) permission due to the interruptions brought on by the COVID-19 epidemic (FEFKA). Despite this, the August 21 filming went off without a hitch.

After the film made its OTT debut on Amazon Prime Video, critics gave it great ratings. It is the country’s first computer-generated film. At the 42nd Moscow International Film Festival, C U Soon was screened in the screen-life category.
