Nelson Dilipkumar Education
Nelson studied at Chennai’s New College and graduated with a degree in visual communication. Nelson began his professional life by working for Star Vijay as an assistant scriptwriter. Kolamaavu Kokila, a dark comedy starring Nayanthara and written and directed by Nelson with help from Anirudh Ravichander. The movie, which debuted on August 17th, 2018, was a huge hit for Lyca Productions. In their subsequent movie, Doctor, Sivakarthikeyan and Priyanka Arul Mohan starred. The movie was one of Tamil cinema’s biggest hits following the pandemic-related lockdowns.

In 2010, Nelson started filming Vettai Mannan, which was intended to be his directing debut. This movie was slated to star Silambarasan, Jai, Hansika Motwani, and Deeksha Seth and be produced by S. S. Chakravarthy of NIC Arts with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. But for unknown reasons, the movie was shelved in the middle of production. An attempt was made in 2017 to restart filming with a new cast and crew, replacing Yuvan Shankar Raja as the composer with Anirudh Ravichander. But the initiative never regained its original vigour.

Thalaivar 169, the next movie directed by Superstar Rajnikanth and starring Nelson, is titled Jailer.
