Her parents and older sister encouraged her to major in science as an undergraduate because they hoped he would one day practise medicine. When she told her parents she wanted to be a model, they agreed to let her enrol in a fashion design course. She first started appearing in advertisements when she first started modeling.

She got cast in the lead role of the 2014 Malayalam film 1983 after failing multiple auditions. She was flawless in the role of Manjula Sasidharan. She made her acting debut in the Kannada film Ajith, playing Charulatha, also in 2014. She first gained notoriety as Nisha in the highly acclaimed Tamil horror film Darling from 2015.
