Nirav Shah Early Life
On numerous projects, including short films, music videos, and television commercials, Nirav started his career as an adjunct or assistant cinematographer to seasoned professionals. Soon after, he went it alone to pursue his passion for filmmaking.

With the 2004 release of “Paisa Vasool,” starring Manisha Koirala and Sushant Singh, Nirav made his feature film directing debut. With this movie, Manisha Koirala made her directorial debut. After his first picture, Shah made Intequam. Shah became well-known and regarded as a cinematographer in Bollywood partly as a result of his work on the blockbuster Bollywood film “Dhoom.”
In 2004, Nirav received a Star Screen Award nomination for “Best Bollywood Cinematography.” Shah had numerous offers from the Tamil film industry as a result, and in the N.Linguswamy-directed action movie “Sandakozhi,” he finally made his Kollywood debut (2005). The Tamil film industry’s “Pattiyal” director Vishnuvardhan approached Shah about working together on a project that same year. The trio frequently collaborated with music director and composer Yuvan Shankar Raja on a number of films, making it one of the most fruitful pairings in Tamil cinema. Billa (2007), Sarvam (2008), and Arinthum Ariyamalum (2005) are just a handful of the movies “Vishnu-Shah-Yuvan” has worked on.
Shah received a prize from the Tamil Nadu government for Billa. He briefly returned to Bollywood to work on projects like Banaras and Dhoom 2. Shah received a National Award nomination for his contributions on both movies. He received the “Best Cinematography in a Bollywood Film” award for the movie Dhoom 2. Shah signed on to a few of the initial 2007 projects, including Pushkar-Oram Gayathri’s Po and Prabhu Deva’s Pokkiri. In 2009, Shah and Prabhu Deva collaborated once more on “Wanted,” a Bollywood-set adaptation of Pokkiri. The films Madrasapattinam, Va, Vaanam, Vettai, Love Failure, Thaandavam, Thalaivaa, Saivam, Kaaviya Thalaivan, Inji Iduppazhagi, Size Zero, Gabbar Is Back, and “Idhu Enna Maayam” are just a few of the many that Shah has been in. He is reportedly constructing and expanding India’s biggest film studio in Chennai.
