Puri Jagannadh Upcoming Movies List: Puri Jagannadh is a producer and director in the Tamil film industry, better known as Tollywood. Following the phenomenal success of Pokiri, he has established himself as one of the most in-demand filmmakers in Telugu cinema. His debut picture as a filmmaker was Badri. A few years later, he founded Vaishno Academy, his own film production firm. His production business was responsible for the successful films Idiot, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Shivamani 9848022338, and Pokiri (which went on to become the biggest hit in the Telugu film industry).
His next film, Chiruta, has a controversial debate that sets the tone for the rest of the film, as did his prior attempts. Pokiri, his first feature, had a 25-year run at the box office. Pokiri’s 562 days in Kurnool are now officially in the books. Pokiri, starring Mahesh, has been playing for over 500 days, making it the first film in the Telugu cinema industry’s 75-year history to accomplish this milestone. Following that, on May 23rd, 2008, he worked with Prabhas on Bujjigadu – Made In Chennai, which was acclaimed as Prabhas’ best performance to date. Despite this, the film’s box office result was at best mediocre.
Although his most recent film, Nenin, started well, it ultimately fizzled, garnering Puri a “just mediocre” grade after he earlier scored a hat trick with Raviteja.
Puri Jagannadh’s latest film cemented his place as one of the most important and well-known filmmakers of the 2000s.
Later that year, with the enormously successful Telugu film Idiot, he made his directorial and producing debut. The following year, Jagannadh directed and produced two Telugu films, Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammayi and Sivamani. Puri Jagannadh directed four films before attaining success with the Telugu film Pokiri in 2006. Adhrawala (2004), Shart: The Challenge (2004) (his debut feature picture), 143 (2004), and Superman (2004) were among them (2005).
The director received both the Santosham Best Director Award and his first Filmfare Award for Best Director in Telugu for the film. In 2011, he made his Bollywood debut with the film Bbuddah_ Hoga, which he directed. The action comedy Terra Baap received positive reviews from reviewers and spectators alike, and it rapidly became a box office success.
The following year, the director had a busy year, releasing three films (Businessman, Devudu Chesina Manushulu, and Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu). Following a successful 2013, the director’s future years as a filmmaker saw similar success. In 2016, the Telugu murder thriller Ism will be released with Heart Attack (2014). He worked on the highly acclaimed Paisa Vasool and the 2017 blockbuster Rogue with the great Balakrishna. Then there’s Mehabooba, Ismart Shankar, and Liger, the most recent film.
Puri is now starring in Jana Gana Mana alongside Vijay Devarakonda.
