Rajinikanth had his official schooling from the Vivekananda Balaka Sangha school and Acharya Paathshala in Basavanagudi, Bangalore. Before he found success in the entertainment industry, he supported himself as a carpenter and a coolie. He got a job as a bus conductor for Bangalore Transport Service. Rajinikanth attended the Madras Film Institute thanks to a scholarship from his buddy Raj Bahadur. When Rajini was performing in a play at the Madras Film Institute, he crossed paths with director K Balachander for the first time. After that, Balachander invited Rajini to join his Tamil film as a cast member.
