Rakesh Roshan Early Life

Rakesh Roshan was born on September 6, 1949, to Ira Roshan and composer Roshan. His dad composed the scores for prominent Bollywood films, while his mother composed the music for the T-Series bhajan CD Krishna Kanhaiya Ram Ramaiya. Rajesh Roshan, one of Rakesh’s siblings, continues their father’s musical direction career.

In other words, Rakesh was hitched to J. Om Prakash’s daughter. Because of his father’s position, numerous renowned film directors and other industry leaders routinely visited them. Pinky frequently accompanied her father to these occasions, where she and Rakesh initially became close. The two were married after Om Prakash met Rakesh and felt he would make the ideal spouse for Pinky. Hrithik Roshan, a Bollywood actor, is their son, and Sunaina Roshan, a film producer like her father, is their daughter.

Rakesh Roshan Career

In the 1970 drama Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani, best remembered for the Kishore Kumar song Sama Hai Suhana Suhani, Rakesh had his debut acting role. After establishing himself in movies like Paraya Dhan and Khoobsurat, Khatta Meetha and Devata and Khandaan, he won the most praise for his portrayal of Suraj, a slacker who marries a wealthy girl solely to grab a piece of his father-in-riches, law’s alongside Jaya Prada in Kaamchor (1982). The movie was well-liked by the audience, and Rajesh Roshan, the brother of Rakesh, was responsible for the music. Sonu Nigam, a well-known playback singer, played Rakesh’s nephew in the film.

Rakesh had a number of opportunities to demonstrate his acting prowess, but he never achieved superstardom. He made the decision to try his hand at directing after seeing how difficult it was to make a life as a major actor. With the enormous success of his debut movie, 1987’s Khudgarz, which starred Shatrughan Sinha and Jeetendra, he made the switch to directing. His second picture as a filmmaker, Khoon Bhari Maang, was a critical and commercial success in 1988. Rakesh won recognition for demonstrating that a movie can succeed even when the heroine is the primary character when Khoon Bhari Maang was released.

Following the commercial and critical successes of Kala Bazaar and King Uncle, Rakesh directed Karan Arjun, the second-highest-grossing Indian movie of 1995, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. With the release of Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai (2000), which was a huge commercial success, the director could no longer be contained. In the movie, his son Hrithik Roshan made his acting debut opposite Ameesha Patel, another rookie. It not only became one of the highest-grossing films of the year but also broke the record for the most awards ever given to a Bollywood movie, making it into the Limca Book of Records. This movie also earned Rakesh his first Filmfare Award as a producer and director.

After a three-year break, Rakesh released the science fiction movie Koi… Mil Gaya in Bollywood, starring Hrithik and Preity Zinta. A young man with intellectual limitations’ alien friend Jadoo was a major factor in the movie’s popularity. The film won the Best Film and Best Director awards at the National Film Awards, as well as the Filmfare, Apsara, and Zee Cine Awards. The second movie in the Krrish franchise and the sequel to Koi… Mil Gaya were both directed by him in 2006. Once more, Naseeruddin Shah and Rekha played supporting roles with Hrithik and Priyanka Chopra in the male and female leads, respectively. This movie did well at the box office in India despite receiving mixed reviews from critics there. In 2013, Rakesh also made Krrish 3, the third movie in the Krrish series. With newcomers Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut, the movie brought back series regulars Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra. The movie garnered a mix of positive and unfavorable reviews, yet it still did well at the box office.
