Sai Karthik Early Life
Sai Karthik was born in Ongole, Andhra Pradesh. A variant of his given name, Kothapalli Sai Karthik, is Sai Kartheek. Sai came from a long line of Ongole musicians and took up the instrument at an early age. Kothapalli Srinivas Sr. was an accomplished rhythm player who regularly appeared on stage. Both his mother, Kothapalli Nagamani, and his wife, Divija Karthik, are playback singers. His aunt Rebala Sri Lakshmi is an actress who has appeared on stage. Sai, then only 9 years old, began accompanying his father to theatrical concerts as a percussionist on rhythm pads.
Sai Karthik Career
After finishing high school, he uprooted and moved to Chennai in hopes of starting a filmmaking career. For a long time, he was the first call when composers like Vandematharam Srinivas, Koti, Mani Sharma, S. P. Balu, Devi Sri Prasad, R. P. Patnaik, and dozens more needed a drummer for their film or stage compositions. In his career, he was a part of about 3,000 shows, mostly as a drummer or pad musician. He had spent years exclusively working for Manisharma before breaking into the Telugu film business. His film career began in 2008 with his debut in the position of drummer and composer for the film Aboo Adavallu.
His first film as music director was the independent hit “Call Center,” but his first picture with composer Roberto Fonseca, “Patas,” was a massive box office success. When he was introduced to the powerful NTR Arts Production House, his career took off. Sai Karthik faced stiff competition when attempting to establish himself as a music director in the Telugu cinema industry, which is dominated by long-established musicians. Fifty film records were completed due to his tireless effort.
There was a decent success for movies like “Run,” “Terror” (great score), and “Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam” at the box office.
