He attended Kendriya Vidyalaya BHU after his father relocated and the family settled in Varanasi. Mishra soon after applied to the National School of Drama, where he eventually graduated in 1989.
Sanjay Mishra Early Life
Sanjay Mishra was born to a Maithil Brahmin family in Darbhanga, Sakri, Narayanpur, Bihar. Both sets of Shambhu Nath Mishra’s grandparents were employed by the Indian government, and his father Shambhu Nath Mishra was a Press Information Bureau employee. After his father agreed to accept a transfer there, Varanasi became his new home.

Before being cast alongside Amitabh Bachchan in a Mirinda commercial, Mishra had a number of small roles in movies and advertisements. He reportedly required 28 takes on the first day of shooting for the TV series Chanakya in 1991. The director left him with an AD so that he could practice before the shoot. Oh, Sweetie! His debut feature film role was in Yeh Hai India! from 1995, where he played a minor harmonium player.
Mishra’s career was launched when, following his success in Satya and Dil Se.., he was chosen to play the dishonest, Paan-loving employee Shukla on the popular TV series Office. He switched to acting in films after a few years of primarily appearing in TV serials. In 2005, after finding success in Bunty Aur Babli and Apna Sapna Money Money, he made the decision to stop acting in television dramas. Mishra has played serious roles in films like Zameen, Charas, Plan, and Satya, but his comedic roles have garnered him the most attention.
Mishra became well-known in 2006 as a result of his performances in the financially successful films Dhamaal and Golmaal: Fun Unlimited. Before breaking out with his portrayal of RGV in movies like All the Best: Fun Begins and Phas Gaye Re Obama, he had bit parts in a variety of multi-starrer, big-budget pictures over the following few years. A dark comedy called Phas Gaye Re Obama focused on the recession. He was the director of the films Dhama Choukdhi (starring Dipraj Rana and the model Rozlyn Khan) and Pranaam Walekum (January 2016). He has worked in both the Hindi and Bhojpuri film industries. His only Bhojpuri-language album is titled Rang Li Chunariya Tere Naam.
