Shekar Chandra grew up in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. His father, cinematographer Hari Anumolu, worked on a number of well-known Telugu movies, like Ladies Tailor, Shri Kanakamalaxmi Recording Dance Troupe, Nuvve Kavali, Gamyam, and others. Shekar Chandra got his big break in the Telugu movie business when people saw how well he did in Amaravathi. Over time, he was in movies like Abbai Class Ammai Mass, Boochamma Boochodu, Nanna Nenu Naa Boyfriends, and Howrah Bridge.

Shekar Chandra is the son of the famous Tollywood cinematographer Hari Anumolu. He directed his first movie, Anasuya, which came out in 2007. Since then, more than 25 movies, like the crime drama Amaravati (2009), the comedy Brother of Bommali (2012), and the action movie Avunu (2012), have used his music. In the past few years, some of Shekar’s best work includes the romantic drama Howrah Bridge (2018), the romantic comedy Subrahmanyapuram (2017), and the comedic thriller Andhhagadu (2015). Naaga Prabhakkar directed his upcoming film Sivaranjani.
