Soubin Shahir has lived in Fort Kochi, Kerala, India since the 12th of October 1983. The Soubin Shahirs have packed up and moved to Kerala, India, specifically to the city of Fort Kochi. His name is Babu Shahir, and his father worked in the film industry as an assistant director, production controller, and producer. He’s the second of two siblings, and his family also includes a brother and a sister. The happy couple, Soubin Shahir and marketing guru Jamia Zaheer, wed on December 16th, 2017.
Soubin Shahir Career
Soubin Shahir got his start in the industry in 2003 as an assistant to Siddique on the set of “Chronic Bachelor.” Then he collaborated with a slew of A-list directors like Fazil, Siddique, Rafi-Mecartin, P. Sukumar, Santosh Sivan, Rajeev Ravi, and Amal Neerad. His first film was Fazil’s 2002 Mollywood production of “Kaiyethum Doorath,” in which he also had a supporting role.
His breakthrough performance came in Alphonse Puthren’s “Premam” as a gym teacher. His career in Malayalam cinema took off after his groundbreaking performance in that film. Over the course of the next several years, he appeared in a number of films, including Charlie, Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Kali, Darvinte Parinamam, Kammatipaadam, Anuraga Karikkin Vellam, Mayanadhi, and Comrade in America – CIA. In 2017, he made his directorial debut with the Mollywood film “Parava,” which starred Amal Shah, Govind V. Pai, Shane Nigam, Dulquer Salmaan, Manaal Sheeraz, and others.
