Sumanth Biography
Sumanth Education
Sumanth, the only child of the late Satyavathi Akkineni and Surendra Yarlagadda, is the oldest of Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s children. Sumanth’s parents returned to the US when he was only a few months old. He consequently spent his formative years in India with his grandmother Annapurna Akkineni and grandfather Akkineni Nageswara Rao. He graduated from Hyderabad Public School in 1992 and enrolled in the University of Michigan’s engineering programme. Then he made the decision to forgo his engineering degree and seek a career as a filmmaker instead. He enrolled at Columbia College in Chicago after intending to pursue a career in filmmaking.

Both the movie itself and Sumanth’s performance won Nandi Awards and received favourable reviews. Off-screen, Sumanth is a huge sports fan who recently accepted a position as the spokesperson for the Hyderabad Skykings franchise of the EFLI.
Sumanth Career
He made his acting debut in Ram Gopal Varma’s romantic drama Prema Katha in 1999. The movie’s box office earnings in which he plays a little farm boy were only adequate. He later portrayed a motorcycle mechanic in the movie Gowri appearing in Yuvakudu, Pelli Sambandham, and Satyam (2004).
He appeared in the movies Mahanandi and Classmates alongside Ravi Varma, Sharwanand, and Sadha as an orphan (2007). He appeared in the critically panned movie Boni in 2009. After that, he costarred with Swati Reddy as a sports coach in the drama Golconda High School and a commercial director in Daggaraga Dooranga. He also played a part in Mallik Ram’s 2012 Hindi flick Vicky Donor adaptation, Naruda Donoruda.
In movies like MalliRaava, which follows a couple who fall in love at various periods in their lives but finally grow apart, the actor has also played supporting roles. In this Gowtam Tinnanuri-directed movie, Sumanth and Aakanksha Singh portray the roles of Idam Jagath and Subrahmanyapuram, respectively. Additionally, NTR Mahanayakudu (2019) and Kapatadhaari were released by him (2020). A recent movie, Malli Modalaindi, has been released and has received generally favourable reviews.
