Tahir graduated from Hindu College of Delhi University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. After that, he studied for his master’s in global media communications at the University of Melbourne in Australia. At the age of 23, he relocated to Mumbai. Soon after, he signed up for acting classes at the Institute of Advanced Acting and Behavioural Studies. He has been seriously interested in performing since he was a young child. He took part in a lot of extracurricular activities while in school.

He was a well-known actor in Delhi and was a student of Aamir Raza Hussain. When he was barely 18 years old, he served as the host of an NDTV Youth Special programme. He studied politics at Hindu College, University of Delhi, and global media communication at the University of Melbourne, with a focus on screen media and the history and philosophy of film. He moved to Mumbai at the age of 23 to pursue an acting career and enrolled in the Institute of Advanced Acting and Behavioural Studies’ 12-month programme. He learned a lot about behavioural analytics and body language throughout his time there. He participated in Naseeruddin Shah’s rigorous summer acting and voice training course in 2013. Tahir Raj Bhasin was born to a Kashmiri-Marathi mother and a Punjabi father. His father is a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force. He started acting as a professional actor in short films after completing his studies at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), including “Nero’s (2009),” in which he played the role of “Dish Pig.” After that, he started working in television ads, appearing in pieces for brands like Samsung and Canon. He made his acting debut in the 2012 movie “Kismat Love Paisa Dilli” playing the character “Bamby.” He appeared in “Kai Po Che!” (2013) as “adult Ali Hashmi” and “One by Two” as “Mihir” (2014). Then, Tahir got a significant role in the movie “Mardaani” as Karan “Walt” Rastogi (2014). He later went on to star in movies like “Chhichhore” and “Manto” (2018).

Tahir’s Bollywood career began with appearances and minor parts in Hindi movies. He appeared in a number of Bollywood movies in minor roles, such as Bamby in Kismat Love Paisa Dilli, Older Ali Hashmi in Kai Po Che, and Mihir Deshpande in One by Two.

But Mardaani, his debut Bollywood movie, won the Best Actor in a Negative Role Award as he played the antagonist (Male). In the movie, he portrayed Karan “Walt” Rastogi.
