Tanikella Bharani Early Life

As a young man he wrote the play “Adde Kompa” while he was in college. His play was well received by the judges and audience members alike, and he was awarded first place. Around the middle of the 1970s, he befriended a friend of the Telugu actor Rallapalli. Plays involving dialogue and action were written with his assistance at the request of Tanikella. Later, on Rallapalli’s advice, he uprooted his life and relocated to Chennai.

Then, in a play by Rallapalli titled “Mugimpi Lai Katha,” he portrayed a 70-year-old man. When the play opened to rave reviews, he suddenly became a household name. Some time later, when Rallapalli’s theatre company “Sri Murali Kalanilayam” needed a playwright, he turned to Tanikella. Eventually, he agreed and wrote ten plays for the theater. The Sahitya Akademi Award, India’s highest literary honor, was given to him for his drama “Gograhanam.”

In addition to being a playwright, he has also been in numerous stage productions. Jambu Dweepam, Chal Chal Gurram, Naalugo Kothi, Kokkorokko, and Gaardhabhaandam are just a few of his well-known works. Gaardhabhanda, Grahanam Pattina Ratri, Sani Grahalu, Goyyi, Panjaram Lo Elaka, and Hulakki are just a few of the Telugu playlets in which he has appeared.

At last, he decided to follow Rallapalli’s advice and move to Chennai.
