Thaman S Wiki and Biography: This is Thaman Ghantasala. Composer for Indian films who primarily works in Telugu and Tamil, Sai Srinivas Siva Kumar is better known by his stage name, S.S.Thaman. S.S.Thaman was born on November 16 in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. His parents, Ghantasala Siva Kumar and Ghantasala Savithri, are both Ghantasalas. Once a student at Don Bosco School, he has since dropped out. As a result of his union with Sri Vardhini, they now have a son.

In Andhra Pradesh, where he was born, he was welcomed into a prosperous family of Telugu Brahmins. He is the grandson of renowned movie mogul Ghantasala Balaramayya. Music runs in Thaman’s family. He began playing the rhythm pads in a band when he was 9 years old, and after his father’s death when he was 13, he stopped attending school altogether. He made his acting and composing debuts in the Tamil films Boys and Sindhanai Sei, respectively; he starred in his first Telugu film, titled kick, in 2009.

He was born in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh to a family of Telugu Brahmins. Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s grandfather, director and producer Ghantasala Balaramayya, was responsible for producing his debut film, Seetarama Jananam. Thaman’s musical ancestors originated in Pottepalem, Nellore District.

Ghantasala Savitri, his mother, is a playback singer; P. Vasantha, his aunt, is a vocalist; and Ghantasala Siva Kumar, his father, was a drummer who collaborated with composer K. Chakravarthy on seven hundred films. Sri Vardhini, a playback singer, and Thaman have been married for some time. He dropped out of school at the age of thirteen after his father’s death and began playing rhythm pads at the age of nine with Ilaiyaraaja’s brother S.P. Balasubramaniam and G. Anand. Given the precarious state of affairs at home, he was compelled to pursue his interest professionally.

He then worked for Raj-Koti for three years on sixty pictures, and then for M. M. Keeravani for three years on thirty films. Composers Vandemataram Srinivas, Chakri, R. P. Patnaik, and Devi Sri Prasad have all influenced his work.

While studying with Manisharma for 6.5 years, he produced 80 films. Before going out on his own, he spent fourteen years learning the ropes from some of the best rhythm and keyboard programmers in the business. At his audition for Boys, Thaman was requested to play the drums, and the producers liked what they heard so much that they cast him.

He made his film scoring debut with the Tamil film Sindhanai Sei, and in 2009 he composed the music for his first Telugu film, Kick. In 2014, with the release of Aagadu, Thaman achieved the milestone of 50 films.
