While completing his MBA, he was cast as the leading man in a C. V. Sridhar-directed movie. En Kadhal Kanmani, released in 1990, was Vikram’s debut movie. His big break came in 1993 with the release of Bombay, directed by Mani Ratnam. Vikram refused to shave off his beard, hence he was unable to finish the assignment.
